Wednesday and Thursday games …

MOUNT ULLA — West Rowan breezed to a 15-0 win against Robinson on Wednesday’s Senior Night and closed South Piedmont Conference play with a 14-2 record.

Arabelle Shulenburger pitched a one-hitter with 10 strikeouts and no walks in the four-inning contest.

The Falcons (17-4) got a triple from EA Nance and doubles from Raney Phelps and Shulenburger.

Taylor Keller, Ansley Jenkins and Nance had two RBIs each.

Robinson hasn’t won this season and is scheduled to play East Rowan on Friday.

CONCORD — South Rowan won 9-8 against Central Cabarrus on Wednesday in South Piedmont Conference action.

South (12-6, 9-6) won two one-run games from Central this season and is tied for third with the Vikings.

The game was actually started on April 10 in shaky weather conditions and was 8-8 in the bottom of the third when play was halted.

The game resumed Wednesday with South pitcher Remi Hagerty getting out of a jam in the bottom of the third to keep the score tied. It was a pitcher’s duel after that, with the Raiders finally scoring in the eighth.

Leisha Carter and Cressley Patterson had the big hits in the eighth. Patterson doubled and Carter scored when the ball eluded a Central outfielder.

SALISBURY — South Davidson beat Salisbury 14-4 in a Central Carolina Conference game played on Wednesday.

Ashley Yang had two doubles for the Hornets. Dasmine Ambers had a triple. Tijah Sims had two hits.

• The Hornets (9-10, 5-6)  lost 18-1 at Walkertown on Thursday. Allie Peeler had the only hit for the Hornets and also had the RBI.

CHINA GROVE — Carson scored in the bottom of the seventh to beat Lake Norman Charter 5-4 in South Piedmont action on Thursday.

Caylee Snow struck out seven for the Cougars (5-13, 4-11).

Alyssa Benner had two doubles and two RBIs. Emma Woodlief had two hits and scored two runs. McKenzie Powers had two hits.

CHARLOTTE — A.L. Brown lost 7-4 at Independence in Wednesday’s non-conference game.

Independence took the lead for good in the fourth.

Marynda Blackwelder and MK Black had three hits for the Wonders. Kennedy Yow drove in two runs.

• The Wonders (9-8-1, 6-6) lost 10-7 to Hickory Ridge in Thursday’s Greater Metro Conference action.

Myla McNeely went 4-for-4 for the Wonders, with a double, triple and three RBIs. Madyson Baker and Black had two hits. Blackwelder had two RBIs.
