Catawba College appoints Garrett Solomon facilities, capital planning associate VP

SALISBURY — Catawba College recently announced the appointment of Garrett Solomon as the new associate vice president for facilities and capital planning. In this role, Solomon will oversee the strategic planning, development and maintenance of the college’s physical infrastructure, ensuring that campus facilities align with Catawba’s mission and long-term goals.
Solomon brings a wealth of experience in facilities management and capital planning within higher education. Prior to joining Catawba College, he served as the associate director of planning, construction and program maintenance at Scripps College in Claremont, California, where he led numerous sustainability initiatives and campus development projects. His commitment to creating environmentally responsible and student-centered spaces has been a hallmark of his career.
“We are thrilled to welcome Garrett to the Catawba community,” Finance and Administration Vice President Sandra Quaye said. “His extensive experience and visionary approach to campus planning will be instrumental as we continue to enhance our facilities to better serve our students, faculty and staff.”
Solomon is an APPA Certified Education Facilities Professional. He holds a master’s degree in facilities management and a bachelor’s degree in architecture from Florida A&M University.
