College baseball: Catawba pulls out another one

SALISBURY — Catawba’s baseball team got clutch doubles from Matthew Connolly and Ty Hubbard in the bottom of the eighth and beat Georgia College 5-4 on Tuesday at Newman Park.
Connolly’s double tied it. Hubbard’s double gave the Indians the lead.
The non-conference victory bumped 11th-ranked Catawba’s record to 33-12. The Indians are 18-4 at home.
Brandon Rodgers (4-1) won in relief. Hayden Simmerson earned his 12th save.
Dylan Driver, Nathan Chrismon and Hubbard had two hits for the Indians.
Connolly also walked with the bases loaded and had two RBIs.
