GRANITE QUARRY — East Rowan hosted a five-school meet on Thursday that included Carson, West Rowan, Lake Norman Charter and Piedmont.
East’s girls and Lake Norman Charter’s boys won the meet. Lake Norman Charter’s boys had the meet’s two elite performances with long jumper Ryker Atkinson (23-1) and 110 meter hurdler Major Leak (14.46).
In the girls meet, the point totals were East (132), Lake Norman Charter (93), Piedmont (58), Carson (48) and West Rowan (30).
Sadie Featherstone starred again for the Mustang girls, winning three individual events —the 100 hurdles (15.21), 300 hurdles (47.65) and the 400 (59.25).
East won three relays, taking the 4×100 (51.29), 4×200 (1:47.93) and the 4×400 (4:32.59).
Jasmyne Brown won the pole vault (8 feet), while Lelu Hill won the long jump (15-9.5).
West’s girls had wins from Jayden Carter in the high jump (5-0) and triple jump (34-10) and Lylah Dennis in the 1600 (5:42).
• In the boys meet, Lake Norman Charter won with 121 points. Next were West (92.3), Carson (62), East (56.7) and Piedmont (33).
West’s boys won the 4×200 (1:33.69) and the 4×800 (9:04).
Cameron Young won the shot put (41-5.5) and added a second in the discus.
East’s boys won the 4×400 (3:46.69). Oliver Shank won the pole vault (12 feet).
Carson’s Jorge Clemente-Garcia won the 800 (2:07.39) and the 3200 (9:51) and was second in the 1600 (4:36). Teammate Eric Gillis won the 1600 in 4:27.

CONCORD — Salisbury track and field athletes competed in the For All the Dawgs Invitational hosted by Robinson on Thursday.
The Hornet boys tied for ninth with 23 points in a strong field. West Cabarrus won the meet.
Jordan Waller ran an elite time of 49.29 in the 400 for fourth place. Waller ran a 22.25 200 for eighth place.
Jaylyn Smith took third in the 100 meters with a clocking of 11.06 seconds.
David Shankle was good in the jumps, taking third in the long jump (18-10), sixth in the triple jump (40-0.5) and seventh in the high jump (5-6).
Finnegan Avery was seventh in the 800 (2:03.63) and eighth in the 1600 (4:50.82).
Jeremiah Davidson was ninth in the 400 in 51.03.
