High school track and field: Rowan teams in 3 meets

DENTON — North Rowan’s boys won a Central Carolina Conference track and field meet at South Davidson on Wednesday that also included West Davidson.

North’s boys scored 90 points with 5-3-2-1 scoring. West Davidson had 48, while South Davidson had 19.

North’s Emanuel Ellis won the 100 (11.53 seconds) and the 200 (23.00). Myles Witherspoon won the high jump (6-0) and 110 hurdles (16.92).

Nicholas Morrow won the 400 (54.35).

KaMahri Feamster won the shot put (49-11), while Brenden Ellis won the discus (115-2). Zyalon Simmons won the long jump (19-8). Zy’Quize Carpenter won the triple jump (40-0.5).

North won the 4×100 (46.14) and 4×200 (1:37.17).

• North Rowan’s girls scored 49 points and finished behind West Davidson (56). South Davidson scored 23.

Ty’Tiana Simmons won the 100 hurdles (18.91) and 300 hurdles (56.81).

Allanah McArthur won the shot put (31-0).

Da’riya Carpenter won the 400 (1:17). North won the 4×100 (55.64) and the 4×200 (1:59.37).

CONCORD — The Northwest Cabarrus girls track team won a five-team South Piedmont Conference meet hosted on Wednesday by Concord.

Next in the team scoring were Concord (83), Central Cabarrus (65), South Rowan (63) and Robinson (10).

South winners were Hope Julian in the 800 (2:30), Railyn Wright in the 100 hurdles (18.14) and Hannah Dellinger in the 300 hurdles (51.65).

• Concord won the boys meet with 121 points. Next were Northwest (84), South Rowan (55), Central (47) and Robinson (40).

South winners were Sawyer Safrit in the shot put (41-8), Tristian Littlejohn in the 400 (53.60), Evan Brooks in the 1600 (5:15) and Andrew Crouse in the 800 (2:14.13).

SALISBURY — Salisbury didn’t have its full team, but the Hornets had some entries in Wednesday’s Central Carolina Conference meet at Livingstone that also included East Davidson, Lexington and Thomasville.

East Davidson’s boys and girls won. Salisbury’s girls were second.

Salisbury’s girls won the 4×100 (53.08). Kimora Chawlk cleared 5 feet to win the high jump. Shekiya Woodruff won the 100 (12.73).

Salisbury’s boys won the 4×100 (43.24) and the 4×400 (3:45.79). David Shankle won the 300 hurdles (46.94), while Austin Massaquoi won the 800 (2:13.52).
