SALISBURY — Catawba College’s Shuford School of Performing Arts will present the Catawba Singers in their final concert of the spring semester on Sunday, April 27, at 4 p.m. in the Omwake-Dearborn Chapel. The hour-long concert is free and open to the public.

The year’s final concert is an annual favorite of the students and audiences alike. Now in its 10th year, “Our Song X” will feature choral works selected by the students.

The concert will include works by Jacob Narverud, Sarah Quartel and Stephen Schwartz, among others, as well as the dramatic choral work “Father Thunder” by Laura Jekabsone.

A special part of the program will be the “senior salute.” Graduation seniors are invited to sing a solo or present an ensemble piece.

The 63 voices of the Catawba Singers are under the direction of Dr. Phillip E. Burges, dean of the Shuford School of Performing Arts. Susan Trivette, Catawba’s collaborative pianist, will accompany the ensemble.
