On Tuesday, April 15, at 1 p.m., guests are invited to join Senior Democrats and guest speaker, Salisbury Community Planning Director Hannah Jacobson, for a talk about “Housing and Living Costs in Rowan County.”
All are welcome to learn about local housing issues at the Rowan County Democratic Party Headquarters, 1504 West Innes Street, Salisbury.
As director of the Planning and Neighborhoods Department, Jacobson oversees the work of the community planning, code enforcement and GIS Divisions. In addition to her management roles, she led the update to the city’s comprehensive plan, Forward 2040: Salisbury’s Framework for Growth, and manages several current projects including the city’s 10-Year Housing Strategy and the redevelopment of the former Kesler Mill site.
Jacobson received her master’s degree in city and regional planning from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is recognized by the American Planning Association as part of the American Institute of Certified Planners. Prior to joining the city of Salisbury in April 2019, Jacobson spent 10 years with the Durham City-County Planning Department where she focused on transit-oriented development and helped to lead the Expanding Housing Choices zoning reforms.
Everyone is invited.
