Calling all bread lovers! Rowan Public Library invites adults 18+ to a deliciously educational experience at the Sourdough 101 workshop on Tuesday, April 8, from 5:30-7 p.m. at RPL West in Cleveland.
This hands-on class will teach participants everything they need to know about creating their own sourdough bread from scratch. Whether you are an absolute beginner or looking to improve your skills, this workshop offers valuable insights into the basics of sourdough baking. Attendees will learn how to properly feed and maintain their sourdough starter, how to turn it into a delicious and perfectly baked loaf, and even creative ways to use your sourdough discard, so nothing goes to waste.
The class is designed to be interactive, so participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and get tips. “Sourdough breadmaking is both an art and a science,” says Lyndsey Maloney, adult services supervisor at RPL. “It’s exciting to see people dive into the process and discover how rewarding it can be to bake your own bread at home.”
This workshop is perfect for anyone interested in learning more about the science behind fermentation, as well as those who simply enjoy the comforting process of baking. Whether you are hoping to add a new hobby to your repertoire or just want to make a fresh loaf of bread for your family, this class will give you the skills and confidence you need.
Due to space limitations, registration is required for the event. Those interested in attending can sign up by contacting Lyndsey Maloney at 704-216-8248 or via email at Lyndsey.Maloney@rowancountync.gov.
