SALISBURY — Salisbury Academy is proud to announce the launch of three new merit-based scholarship programs: the Leadership Scholar Award, the Service Scholar Award, and the Academic Scholar Award. The scholarships are designed to recognize and support new students entering Upper School (grades 9-12) who demonstrate outstanding leadership potential, a deep commitment to service, or exceptional academic achievement.

Cultivating leaders: The Leadership Scholar Award

This is the call to action for students who embody leadership. The Leadership Scholar Award seeks individuals who lead by example, serve with heart, live with integrity and excel academically. Recipients will receive a $5,000 annual merit award, a paid summer leadership conference and opportunities to develop their leadership skills within a supportive community.

Serving with passion: The Service Scholar Award

This award recognizes students with a passion for service and a drive to create positive change. The Service Scholar Award provides a $5,000 annual merit award, a $500 summer stipend for service learning, and the chance to expand their impact through meaningful service projects.

Fostering intellectual excellence: The Academic Scholar Award

This scholarship celebrates students who demonstrate exceptional academic achievement, intellectual curiosity, and a commitment to rigorous learning. Recipients will receive a $5,000 annual merit award and access to a vibrant academic community that fosters intellectual growth.

Key program details:

  • Annual award: Each scholarship provides a $5,000 annual merit award.
  • Renewal: Scholarships are renewable each year, provided recipients maintain academic standards, demonstrate good citizenship, and remain actively involved in school life.
  • Application process: Students must complete the Salisbury Academy admission application, the scholarship application, and participate in an interview process.
  • Financial aid: Students may apply for Opportunity Scholarships or financial aid in addition to these merit awards.
  • Eligibility: All new students entering upper school grades are eligible to apply.

“These merit scholarships represent Salisbury Academy’s dedication to attracting and nurturing students who will not only excel academically but also become leaders and change makers in their communities,” said Beverly Fowler, head of school. “We are excited to see the impact these exceptional students will have on our school and the community.”
