RALEIGH — The North Carolina Association of Educators (NCAE) released the following statement last week after newly discovered photos of failed Supreme Court candidate Jefferson Griffin wearing a Confederate uniform were exposed.

“Jefferson Griffin says, ‘I have grown, learned and dedicated myself to values that promote unity, inclusivity and respect for all people,’ but apparently, not for the 60,000 North Carolina voters he wants to exclude from the democratic process — including more than 170 NCAE members. Supreme Court justices must respect all people, all the time. They cannot pick and choose when it is politically expedient.”
