MURFREESBORO– Throughout the 2024-2025 Chowan Athletic season, the Chowan Athletic Department will feature the Ace Hardware Student-Athletes of the Week.

For the week of March 21-27, Mckenzie Misenheimer from the Chowan softball team and Justin Peterson from the golf team earned the honor.

Misenheimer (East Rowan) went 2-for-3, driving in two runs, scoring one, and stealing a base in a win over UNC Pembroke at Hawks Field.

She carried that momentum into the second game of the doubleheader, going 1-for-2 with two runs scored, two walks and two more stolen bases. Her efforts led to a .600 batting average and a .741 on-base percentage for the day.

Misenheimer, a junior outfielder, leads Chowan for the season with a .400 batting average. In 29 games, she has five homers, five doubles and 32 runs scored and is 21-for-22 on stolen bases.
