MOUNT ULLA — Arabelle Shulenburger pitched a gem in West Rowan’s 2-0 non-conference win against South Iredell on Wednesday.

Shulenburger struck out 10 with no walks.

West scored two runs in the third on a clutch hit by EA Nance.

Raney Phelps had two of West’s six hits.

West’s loss to Lake Norman has become a forfeit win.

SALISBURY — Salisbury lost 15-2 in non-conference action to Union Grove Christian on Thursday.

Ashley Yang had a double and a triple for the Hornets (5-6, 2-3). Allie Peeler and Dasmine Ambers had RBIs.

• Salisbury lost 22-1 to West Davidson in a Central Carolina Conference game on Wednesday. Yang and Peeler had the only hits for the Hornets.

Maci Harris had four hits for the Green Dragons.

Carson started off well and led 3-1 after three innings, but lost 20-8 to Butler on Wednesday in a non-conference game. Butler scored seven in the sixth and seven in the seventh.
