CONCORD — East Rowan got a scare from Robinson, but was able to beat the Bulldogs 1-0 in a South Piedmont Conference game.
Harrison Ailshie hit his fourth homer in the first inning for the only run of the game.
Mason Phelps (3-1) made that run stand up with exceptional pitching. Phelps struck out nine, walked three and allowed four hits.
East (11-2, 7-1) was held to five hits by Robinson’s Jake Barbee, USC Upstate recruit with an ERA under 2.00, and Noah Johnson.
Ailshie and Sam Blackwelder had doubles for East.

HUNTERSVILLE — David Wignot socked a two-run homer in the first inning and Lake Norman Charter held on to beat South Rowan 2-1 in South Piedmont Conference action.
Matthew Overcash (3-2) shut out the Knights after the first inning with the help of errorless defense.
South (8-4, 5-3) scored in the second inning, but hurlers Trevor Cook and Garrett Burris were able to hold the Raiders to five hits.
Conner Coy and Lucas Cox had two hits each for South. Coy knocked in Cox for South’s run.

CHINA GROVE — Carson crushed Northwest Cabarrus 14-0 in South Piedmont Conference action.
Kendal Sifford (3-2) pitched the five-inning shutout, with four strikeouts and no walks. He allowed three hits.
Carson (5-7, 4-4) had six doubles, with Jayden Goff, Corbin Hales, Cameron Kirk, Jayven Parks, Ryan Snyder and Maverick Walters getting one each.
Hales had a 4-for-4 night. Kirk had three hits. Snyder and Parks drove in three apiece.
Snyder missed a grand slam by a few feet, but it was a sacrifice fly.
Cameron Williamson, Jayden Goff and Hales had two RBIs each. TJ Harris had two hits.

DENTON — Salisbury pounded South Davidson 17-4 in Central Carolina Conference action for the Hornets’ first win of the season.
Salisbury (1-8, 1-2) had its best defensive game to back the pitching of Landon Tucker.
Hank Webb had four hits, while Ny’Gel Elliott and Evan Koontz had three each.

SPENCER — East Davidson no-hit North Rowan in a five-inning Central Carolina Conference game.
Two Cavaliers got on base when they were hit by pitches.
Chase Cauble pitched four innings for the Cavaliers, and Anders Thompson finished up.

A,L. Brown (3-7, 1-4) surprised Hickory Ridge 10-5 for the Wonders’ first Metro Conference win.
Likely draft pick CJ Gray, an NC State signee, and Drew Ryan did the pitching for the Wonders.
Gray went 3-for-3, while Mason Teal drove in four runs.
