High school softball: East, Carson, Hornets win

GRANITE QUARRY — Lily Kluttz slugged two homers and a double and scored four runs as East Rowan’s softball team beat North Davidson 7-1 in a non-conference game.

East (7-0) had 15 hits. Eleni Miller went 4-for-4 with four RBIs. One of her hits was a double.

Kori Miller, Chloe Shank and Jordan Dry helped out with two hits each.

Camryn Perkins went the distance in the circle and held the Black Knights to three hits.

THOMASVILLE — Salisbury demolished Thomasville 18-0 in three innings in a Central Carolina Conference game.

The Hornets (4-3, 1-1) got six RBIs from Addie Myers, while Emma Blackwell had a bases-clearing double.

Ashley Yang had three hits and scored three runs. Allie Peeler had a double, a triple and two RBIs.

Blackwell, Peeler and Dasmine Ambers scored two runs.

Yang and Peeler combined on the shutout.

CHINA GROVE — Carson blasted Robinson 13-1 for its first win in the South Piedmont Conference.

Caylee Snow struck out 11 and held the Bulldogs to four hits in a five-inning game.

The Cougars (2-4, 1-4) scored four runs in the first and six in the third.

Emma Woodlief had a double, a triple and three RBIs. Madison Clark had a double and three RBIs. Caroline Snow had two hits and scored two runs.

Piper Thonen and Leah Troutman had doubles.
