Salisbury High Spring Into Action

Salisbury High School recently got a little facelift thanks to some helpful Hornets.

Students, staff, parents and community members alike assembled to support Salisbury High School’s first annual Spring into Action event on Saturday, March 1.

The school’s Student Government Association (SGA) took charge to make the cleanup possible. This year, the event was spearheaded by Lucy Barr, a senior at Salisbury High School and the SGA community service chair. Barr worked diligently alongside her teacher-advisor, Catherine Falkenbury, to organize a successful day of service.

Approximately 45 student volunteers from various school organizations, along with faculty and local supporters, cleaned and refreshed areas of the Salisbury High School campus. They performed various tasks, including picking up litter, landscaping and beautifying shared spaces. This event provided students with valuable hands-on experience, allowing them to better understand the challenges facing the facilities they use and to take pride in maintaining their school grounds.

The success of the Spring into Action event would not have been possible without the commitment of student and community volunteers, as well as the staff members who facilitated and supervised the event. Their dedication highlights the importance of community engagement and the impact of teamwork in creating a positive environment for both students and faculty.
