Historic St. George’s Annual Service in Woodleaf

The annual service at Historic St. George’s Episcopal Church will be held Sunday, March 16, at 2 p.m. with a reception following the service. The service will be conducted by Bishop William O. Gregg, previously assisting bishop at the Diocese of North Carolina. He studied at the University of Richmond and later at the Episcopal Divinity School, from where he graduated with a master of divinity. He also holds a master of arts and a doctor of philosophy from the University of Notre Dame. Bishop Gregg now serves as rector of St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Reidsville.
St. George’s was affiliated with St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church built in 1840 and was established as a separate parish in 1906. The church closed as an active parish church.
