The second annual health fair, hosted by the Reach Church Missionary Department, is scheduled for March 8 from noon to 4 p.m.

Victoria Connor, event organizer and president of the church’ missionary department, said that “we as people perish because of the lack of knowledge or fear of going to the doctor,” therefore, she wants to offer this event to bring awareness to those in the community, with a goal of giving back, and she encourages everyone to attend.

A wide variety of vendors will be onsite at the event, which will be held at the City Park Recreation Center, 316 Lake Drive, Salisbury.

Among those providing free health screenings, services and information during the day will be Novant doing mammograms; One Blood, which will be offering a blood drive; Daymark Recovery Services; Rowan County Health Department; Angels At Heart Home Care; Kids 1st Childcare Academy; J.F. Hurley YMCA; The Forum; Shonta Carter & Co., who will be doing free gel polish or manicure, along with Glitter and Gloss NC; Massages by Dana Parker; TCB Consulting Services; Gate Pregnancy Resource Center Community Care Clinic;  Rowan County Health Department; Rowan County Fire Department; Atrium Cancer Center; CRHRC; Sisters in Partnership; Crystal’s Beauty Supply; Hearing Life; Breyelle’s Beauty Supply & Salon; Juicing with ShaNanigans; Majestic Creations-Kelly Taylor, Partner Co.; Money Magnet Financial Coaching Services and The Reach Church.

In addition to having vendors, raffles will also be a part of the day’s activities.

Connor credited The Reach Church’s pastor and his wife, Bradley and Tramika Taylor, along with her family, for their support as she said she would not be able to do what she has done if it were not for each of them.

She also said that this event would not be possible without all of the vendors who agreed to participate.

“I am truly grateful,” Connor said. “They all have a passion to serve and to be a blessing to the community.”
