Salisbury warns drivers about upcoming street resurfacing projects

SALISBURY — The city of Salisbury will begin street resurfacing starting the week of March 10, lasting for approximately six weeks, weather permitting.
The public is advised to expect delays in paving areas, travel cautiously and observe lane closures. Motorists are advised not to park along the roadsides or they risk having vehicles towed. Access to and from properties will be made available as needed.
The following streets are scheduled for major rehabilitation, where 1.5 inches of old asphalt is milled away and replaced with new asphalt:
- Carabelle Circle from North McCoy Road to the end
- Colony Road from Catawba Road to Hickory Drive
- Crenshaw Court from Hogans Valley Way to the end
- Depot Street from East Liberty Street to East Kerr Street
- Drew Circle from Sidney Drive to the end
- East Cemetery Street from North Main Street to North Lee Street
- East Fisher Street from South Long Street to South Shaver Street
- East Franklin Street from North Main Street to North Lee Street
- East Horah Street from South Lee Street to the dead end
- East Liberty Street from Kentwood Avenue to Newsome Road
- East Seventeenth Street from Main Street to North Lee Street
- Fairson Avenue from West Innes Street to Walker Street
- First Street from West B Avenue to West C Avenue
- Freedom Drive from the dead end to Harrison Road
- Heatherwood Place from Troon Drive to the cul-de-sac
- North Caldwell Street from West Innes Street to West Council Street
- North Clay Street from East Innes Street to Little Street and from Kenly Street to Staton Place
- North Railroad Street from North Lee Street to East Henderson Street
- Piper Lane from South Main Street to the end
- South Railroad Street from Mildred Avenue to Vance Avenue
- Sarazen Way from Hogans Valley Way to Riviera Drive
- Shamrock Drive from North Milford Drive to the dead end
- West Cemetery Street from North Fulton Street to North Ellis Street
- West Colonial Drive from Statesville Boulevard to the dead end
- Winchester Circle from Bethel Drive to the dead end
- Winter Oak Lane from Oak Brook Drive to Oak Forest Lane
- Woody Avenue from Faith Road to Loop Street
- Yost Circle from Yost Street to the dead end
The following streets are scheduled for a thin lift, where a thin asphalt layer is laid over the top of the existing roadway:
- Crawford Street from Kirk Street to Shives Street
- East C Avenue from South Main Street to Old South Main Street
- East Council Street from Faith Road to Kentwood Avenue
- North Church Street from West Thirteenth Street to West Midway Street
- Old South Main Street from East B Avenue to East C Avenue
- Overhill Drive from the west side of Overhill Road to the east side of Overhill Road
- Overhill Road from Hampshire Court to Overhill Drive
- Rugby Road from Polo Drive from Churchill Drive
- East Liberty Street from North Long Street from North Shaver Street
- South Shaver Street from East Horah Street from Sonny Acres Drive
- Tilman Street from Hedrick Street to Ackert Avenue
- West Cemetery Street from North West Street to Woodson Street
- Wildwood Drive from Stokes Ferry Road to Eastwood Drive
