College basketball: Goodlett makes All-Freshman team

SALISBURY — Catawba guard Bailee Goodlett fought through injuries and the occasional rough game that all freshmen experience and turned in a strong freshman year.
Goodlett is the program’s first to make South Atlantic Conference All-Freshman since Lyrik Thorne in 2020.
Goodlett, who starred at North Rowan, started every game for the Indians and averaged 9.0 points and 2.3 assists. She shot 76.6 percent from the foul line.
Goodlett’s highest scoring game was 19 against JC Smith. She had 17 against North Georgia. She scored in double figures 15 times.
Catawba’s Janiya Foskey made first team All-SAC.
Catawba is seeded fifth for the conference tournament and will play fourth-seeded Wingate at 5 p.m. in Rock Hill on Wednesday.

Catawba’s men are seeded sixth and will play third-seeded Coker at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday in Rock Hill.
Catawba’s Kris Robinson made second team All-SAC. Nick Walker made the third team.
