Though it was a chilly and rainy day, none of the 60 veterans and staff seemed to notice at the Salisbury Veterans Home on Feb. 12.

Salisbury Elks Lodge #699 members served up hot chocolate, coffee, donuts and some “old-time” valentine candy with the heartfelt greeting cards.

“We are very blessed to have the Veterans Home here in Salisbury,” said ER Kenny Martin. “It may have been a cold day outside, but we had many warm hearts today showing our love and appreciation to our veterans and to those who care for them.”
