College women’s basketball: Catawba loses to Limestone at home

SALISBURY — Janiya Foskey, three-time South Atlantic Conference Player of the Week, was unstoppable again for Catawba’s women’s basketball team on Thursday night, but the Indians lost the game.

Foskey had 28 points and 10 rebounds, but the Indians fell to Limestone 72-66 at Goodman Gym. Foskey tied the game three times with layups in the fourth quarter. The last one was with 5:51 to go, but the Saints (14-11, 10-11) finished stronger.

Nala Baker scored 11 for the Indians. Mary Spry (Carson) scored eight points in 13 minutes. Sydney Gueterman also scored eight.

Limestone was deadly from the 3-point line (7-for-12) and the free-throw line (23-for-25).

Kalisha Hill scored 18 for Limestone.

The road victory meant a season sweep of the Indians  for Limestone, which is tied for seventh place.

Catawba (15-10, 13-8) is fifth despite the two losses to the Saints.
