Future Scapes, Incorporated, located in downtown Salisbury is only a two-year old nonprofit organization, but its already having a big impact.
The organization recognizes a widening gap in exposing urban and rural youth to community and neighborhood revitalization.
Future Scapes mentors Rowan Salisbury High School juniors and seniors as well as collegiate freshmen and sophomores, who have a curiosity about the real estate industry, land development, and neighborhood revitalization, or careers in real estate land planning and development, and public/private community development. Future Scapes also provides mentoring and technical assistance for emerging real estate development entrepreneurs
Future Scapes sponsored its inaugural, annual Black History Month Essay Scholarship contest in 2024 to encourage high school students to learn more about and appreciate the contributions, the culture, the fortitude, the perseverance, and the history of African-Americans in developing America. For more information about the scholarship, visit the organization’s website at www.futurescapesinc.com.
