SALISBURY — A house fire at 330 Imperial Drive Monday afternoon has left one resident injured.
The fire broke out about 5:46 p.m., according to Salisbury Fire Chief Bob Parnell, and he said when firefighters arrived they found smoke and fire inside the house. The fire was quickly brought under control and one male was taken to a local hospital for injuries he sustained in the fire.
Officials have said the resident suffered smoke inhalation but has since been released from the hospital.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Salisbury Fire Marshal’s Office and firefighters went back today to make sure the fire was completely out after a few hot spots cropped up overnight. “Nothing unusual,” said Parnell.
Area fire departments responded with mutual aid both for the fire and to cover stations in Salisbury while the fire was ongoing, and Parnell expressed appreciation for the help.
