College men’s basketball: Blue Bears lose at home to Golden Bulls

SALISBURY — Tuesday’s Senior Night for Livingstone’s men’s basketball attracted 655 fans to New Trent Gym.
That was a positive, but fans witnessed a frigid shooting night by the home team.
The Blue Bears shot 26.2 percent in 62-51 loss to CIAA rival Johnson C. Smith. The Blue Bears were 3-for-16 from 3-point range.
The Golden Bulls (13-10, 8-7) managed 40 percent shooting. Jared Davis had a big night, 17 points on 8-for-11 shooting.
Jamal Cannady Jr. scored 16 for Livingstone. James Nipper had 11 for the Blue Bears (12-14, 4-11).
Livingstone will look to bounce back at Winston-Salem State on Saturday afternoon.
