With the possibility looming of inclement winter weather on Wednesday, Rowan-Salisbury Schools announced that it will be a remote learning day for students.

“Winter weather is expected in Rowan County around 9 a.m. tomorrow creating potentially hazardous road conditions for our buses and student drivers,” school officials said in a post disseminated online.

According to the post, teachers were instructed to send work home with elementary students on Tuesday anticipating a remote day.

Meanwhile, middle and high school students can access their assignments for Wednesday through Canvas.

“As always, students have five days to submit remote eLearning assignments for attendance and grading credit,” the post said.

All after-school activities are also canceled. RSS staff were instructed to follow prompts from their direct supervisor.

“Thank you for your understanding as we prioritize the safety of students and staff,” the post concluded.
