College men’s basketball: Catawba Indians fall to Coker

SALISBURY — Coker’s men’s basketball team outscored Catawba 93-88 in an entertaining scrap for fourth place in the South Atlantic Conference on Wednesday.
There were 14 lead changes, lots of thrills, but the bottom line was a rare home loss in Goodman Arena for the Indians (14-9, 11-8) in front of 414 fans.
There was no shortage of efficient offense. Catawba shot 55 percent from the field, but the Cobras (16-7, 12-7) shot 56 percent and made 13 3-pointers.
Kris Robinson made five 3-pointers and scored 18 for Catawba. Ibra Athie had 17 points and 15 rebounds. Caleb Jones scored 13, and Zion McDuffie added 11.
Coker was able to avenge a 93-86 home loss to Catawba. Sebastian Cole led the Cobras with 19 points.
