Rockwell police arrest man for knocking victim’s teeth out
On Feb. 9, Rockwell police answered a call for a domestic disturbance on Division Avenue. According to Chief Cody Trexler, the victim had “visible signs of assault, including two teeth knocked out.” The alleged assailant had already left the scene when officers arrived, but investigators were able to obtain an arrest warrant for Joseph Parham Jr., 25, who was arrested Feb. 11 and charged with assault inflicting serious injury and communicating threats.
Rowan County Sheriff’s Office reports
• A larceny from Webb Road reportedly occurred about 12:30 p.m. Feb. 9.
• A motor vehicle theft of a license plate from a truck on U.S. Hwy. 52, Rockwell reported occurred between 8 a.m. February. 8 and noon Feb. 10.
• A burglary on Brooks Link Road, Rockwell reportedly occurred about 4 a.m. Feb. 9 and was reported Feb. 10.
• A larceny from a business one Bringle Ferry Road reportedly occurred between 8 a.m. Feb. 2 and 3:30 p.m. Feb. 10.
• Xavier Alexander Rushing, 25, was charged Feb. 10 with two counts of failure to appear and one count of promoting prostitution of a minor or one with mental disabilities.
• Stephen Eugene Koon, 65, was charged Feb. 10 with obtaining property by false pretenses, fraud in disposal of mortgage property and delivery or acceptance of a blank or open title.
• Wedley Grant Raynor, 35, was charged Feb. 10 with assault on a government official or employee and violation of a domestic violence protective order.
• John Maurice Whitney, 41, was charged Feb. 10 with trafficking in cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
• Dylan Andrew Martin, 25, was charged Feb. 10 with larceny of a motor vehicle and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Salisbury Police reports
• A larceny from a motor vehicle on Klumac Road reportedly occurred between 4:30 and 5:09 a.m. Feb. 11. Total estimated loss was $5,915.
• An assault on Ashbrook Road reportedly occurred about 12:35 p.m. Feb. 11.
• A motor vehicle theft from South Main Street reportedly occurred between 8:48 a.m. Feb. 8 and noon Feb. 10.
• A theft of a motor vehicle from Bringle Ferry Road reportedly occurred between 11 p.m. Feb. 9 and 11 a.m. Feb. 10.
• Walter Lee Daugherty, 56, was charged Feb. 11 with misdemeanor larceny.
• Aquavius Robert Lee, 28, was charged Feb. 11 with resist/obstruct/delay of a public officer.
