RALEIGH — It’s hard to win a college game with 33 turnovers, but Shaw’s women’s basketball team accomplished that feat on Saturday.

Shaw beat Livingstone 88-77 in CIAA action. The home team was boosted by a crowd of 1,000 at Spaulding Gym.

Shaw (9-14, 6-7) overcame that pile of turnovers with 48-percent shooting, eight 3-pointers and 40 chances at the foul line. The home team made 28 free throws.

Livingstone (9-15, 7-6) shot 23 free throws and made 18.

Livingstone turned it over 27 times, shot 37 percent and made only three 3-pointers in 18 tries. That made it tough to win on the road.

Thalia Carter led the Blue Bears with 20 points. Samiyah Briggs scored 18. Bria Griffith had 12 points and nine boards.
