Bridge tournament draws large crowd

The Salisbury Sectional Bridge Tournament returned Feb. 7-9 for the first time since COVID, and the first day of the tournament drew a large crowd for both sessions. The event was held at the Rufty-Holmes Senior Center, and the room at the center was packed with no empty seats, said Bonnie Jones, the center’s marketing and media coordinator. The event was sponsored by American Bridge Contract League, Unit 169 and its local sanctioned clubs. Louisa Witten served as the chairperson for the local event, and Richard Brisbin was the partnership chairperson of the tournament. The event was open to the public. Duplicate bridge was held on Friday and Saturday with a morning session beginning at 10 a.m. and the afternoon at 2:30 p.m., and Sunday was team games.
