College women’s basketball: Blue Bears rally for road win

ORANGEBURG, S.C. — Morgan Kelson scored 23 points as Livingstone’s women’s basketball team beat Claflin 66-62 on Wednesday.
The CIAA game unfolded in front of 526 fans at Tullis Arena.
Claflin (9-7, 5-4) led 28-21 at halftime, but the Blue Bears (9-13, 7-5) scored 45 points in the second half.
Claflin made 11 3-pointers to stay in the game and had half as many turnovers as the Blue Bears, but Livingstone won the battle on the boards, battering Claflin 43-24 on the glass. Livingstone also had a good shooting game with 46 percent accuracy from the field .
Samiyah Briggs scored 14 for Livingstone. Bria Griffith had 11.
Ashari Lewis scored 18 for Claflin. Janelle Sample made five 3-pointers.
