SALISBURY — Catawba’s men’s basketball team turned the ball over 20 times, shot 39.3 percent and made only four 3-pointers.
An ugly stat sheet like that usually mean a loss, but Catawba won another South Atlantic Conference home game at Goodman Arena on Saturday. Indians 66, Tusculum 55 was the final.
Give Tusculum an assist. The Pioneers shot 35 percent from the field and went 3-for-23 from 3-point range. They were shooting blanks from long distance, but they just kept firing.
What Catawba did well was rebound those missed Tusculum shots. The Indians (13-8, 10-7) had a 52-33 edge on the boards.
Nick Walker is on a roll and had another big game with 19 points and 10 rebounds to lead Catawba’s victory in front of 430 fans. Kris Robinson scored 10. Zion McDuffie scored nine. The Daniel twins, Carson and Chase, combined for nine assists. Ibra Athie had 12 rebounds.
Bryce Jackson scored 17 for the Pioneers (4-17, 4-13).
