Tuesday games …
THOMASVILLE — Emari Russell scored a career-high 34 points as North Rowan destroyed Thomasville 90-43 for a Central Carolina Conference victory.
Russell had scored 32 in a loss to Lincoln Charter before Christmas.
Russell scored 18 in the third quarter. He made one 3-pointer and five free throws, so he got 26 points on 2s. He got into the lane at will and got all the way to the rim a lot.
The Cavaliers (9-7, 6-1) are in second place and finished a sweep of the struggling Bulldogs (5-12, 2-5). North romped 100-69 when the teams played in Spencer.
North played without Dyzarious Carpenter, but it was still a breezy night. North led 45-21 at the half and things well under control.
Carter Williams scored 11 for the Cavaliers, who got points from just about everyone on the roster.
Jo Jo Tarver had eight points and eight assists. He and Russell piled up steals. JP Polk had nine points and 11 rebounds.
Tyreek White scored 15 to pace the Bulldogs, who went 7-for-22 from the foul line.
North will have a more challenging game at home on Wednesday against Mount Pleasant.

TYRO — Salisbury put five men in double figures and routed West Davidson 84-25 for another Central Carolina Conference victory.
Salisbury already had beaten West Davidson 68-20 in Salisbury, so there wasn’t much mystery about what was going to happen on Crim Court. The Hornets (15-3, 8-0) won their 14th straight game.
“We really didn’t press a lot, worked on some different things defensively,” Salisbury head coach Albert Perkins said.
The Hornets showed considerable mercy, and a running clock helped hold the score down. The Hornets could have won by as many as they wanted to win by.
Blake Smith got the scoring started with a 3-pointer. Braylon Taylor hit back-to-back 3s for a 9-0 lead.
Myles Smith got four early buckets, taking advantage of West Davidson turnovers. Macari House made the Hornets’ fourth 3-pointer of the quarter for a 16-0 lead, and Keial Matthews had a three-point play to make it 23-0 after seven minutes.
Fans of both teams felt like turning cartwheels when the Green Dragons (1-17, 0-7) got their first points a minute into the second quarter. It was 47-8 at halftime.
Myles Smith scored 14. Taylor and House had 13 each. Tre Davis got 11, and Blake Smith scored 10.
Salisbury 23 24 15 22 — 84
W. Davidson 0 8 11 6 — 25
SHS scoring — M. Smith 14, Taylor 13, House 13, Davis 11, B. Smith 10, Webb 7, Cherry 6, Brown 5, Matthews 5.

CONCORD — Northwest Cabarrus turned a basketball game into volleyball at one point of its 78-30 romp against South Rowan.
Northwest’s Samuel Brown and Ezekiel Brown registered a combo block, maybe the first in South Piedmont Conference history, simultaneously smacking a South shot off the backboard to start one more fast break.
Second-place Northwest (12-6, 9-2) out-everythinged the Raiders (1-18, 0-12) in an uneven matchup. The Trojans led 11-1 early, led 33-14 at the half, and put up 30 racehorse points in the third quarter to get the 40-point lead required for a running clock. Northwest scored 30 in the third quarter, with Anderson Lee jumping off the bench to score 10 in a hurry.
Carter Rohletter made three 3-pointers and scored 11 to lead South. Jelani King started and surprised the Trojans with two early blocks, but foul trouble sent him to the pine. Case Beaver got his first varsity bucket off an offensive rebound late in the third quarter.
South Rowan 3 11 11 5 — 30
NW Cabarrus 13 20 30 15 — 78
SOUTH scoring — Rohletter 11, Moore 5, Littlejohn 4, Anderson 3, Long 3, Beaver 2, Overcash 2.

CONCORD — Robinson stayed undefeated in the South Piedmont Conference by crushing West Rowan 83-42.
West has been playing much better of late and nearly beat Carson on Friday, but melted against Robinson’s relentless defensive pressure, rushing shots and rushing passes.
West started decently and was down 9-6 in the early going, but the Bulldogs (17-2, 11-0) had a 15-2 flurry to provide separation and took a 24-11 lead after a quarter. Robinson made five 3-pointers in the first half and owned a comfortable 44-21 edge at halftime.
Most of the Bulldogs’ shot attempts are transition layups or stick-backs, so they shot 54 percent. They had a balanced assault on the Falcons. Noah Speller led with 12 points.
Evan Kennedy paced West (5-11, 3-8) with 11 points, while Jalen Moten had 10. West made only two 3-pointers, with Moten and Brant Graham accounting for one apiece. Josiah Young blocked four shots.
West Rowan 11 10 13 8 — 42
Robinson 24 20 21 18 — 83
West — Kennedy 11, Moten 10, Graham 7, Donaldson 5, Neely 4, Ford 3, Tucker 2, Blackwell 1.
Robinson — Speller 12, Hudson 11, Jo. Reid 10, Miranda 8, Jam. Reid 8, Walton 8, Frazier 8, Wattie 7, Young 6, Harlee 5.

CHINA GROVE — Carson played without CP Perry and but still throttled East Rowan 72-29 in a one-sided South Piedmont Conference matchup.
Perry has been in concussion protocol since suffering a head gash at West Rowan last week. He may be cleared before Carson (14-6, 8-4) plays league-leading Robinson this Friday.
Perry averages more than 16 points per game, but the Cougars didn’t miss a beat against overmatched East Rowan.
Drew Neve scored 13 points in the first quarter as Carson took a 25-9 lead. Carson led 48-17 at halftime.
Neve finished with 19 points, all in the first half. Maverick Walters made four 3-pointers and scored 14. Jonah Drye made four 3s for 12 points.
Neve scored a career-best 30 in Carson’s 85-51 win against East early in the season.
Brady Ailshie led the Mustangs (1-18, 1-11) with 11 points. Jaden Reid had eight.
East Rowan 9 8 8 4 — 29
Carson 25 23 13 11 — 72
East — Ailshie 11, Reid 8, Thomas 4, Lyons 4, Lino 2.
Carson — Neve 19, Walters 14, Drye 12, Mills 9, Rockwell 7, Patterson 7, Kluttz 4.
