MOUNT ULLA — West Rowan’s girls repeated as South Piedmont Conference Tournament champions on Tuesday.
West scored 125 points to top Northwest Cabarrus (74), East Rowan (60), Robinson (34), Central Cabarrus (20), Concord (19), Carson (16) and South Rowan (11.5).
The Falcons, Trojans and Mustangs also were the top three teams during the regular season.
West’s Olyvia Brown (107 pounds), Waylan Collins (126), Nevaeh McCullough (145) and Brooks Zino (152) were individual champions.
East’s Leah Edwards (114) and Jasmyne Brown (120) won championships, along with Carson’s Stasia Guerrero (185).
East’s Emily Heald (100) and Hayden Osborne (126) finished second.
West’s Katie O’Brien (120), Lillian McMillan (145), Taylor Miller (165), Lindsey Russell (185) and Margaret Leach (235) finished second.
Robinson’s Moriah Antis was named Most Outstanding Wrestler for the tournament.
West’s Tim Pangburn was voted SPC Coach of the Year.
East’s Edwards was voted SPC Wrestler of the Year.
Making the All-SPC teams from the Rowan schools were East’s Heald, Osborne and Brown; West’s Brown, Collins, McCullough, Zino and Miller; Carson’s Guerrero, and South’s Carleigh Cline, who placed third at 132.
