Weather alert for fire danger in central North Carolina until early Tuesday evening

The National Weather Service issued a weather alert at 10:45 a.m. on Tuesday for fire danger until 5 p.m. The alert is for Person, Granville, Vance, Forsyth, Guilford, Alamance, Orange, Durham, Davidson and Randolph counties.

“With the combination of winds of 10 to 15 mph and gusts upwards to 20 to 30 mph and low Relative Humidity values between 25 and 30, there is an increased fire danger across the area Today. Outdoor burning is discouraged. Please refer to your local burn permitting authority on whether you can burn. If you do burn, use extreme caution and ensure fire suppression equipment is readily available,” says the NWS.
