College volleyball: Senior Day win for West grad Hester

TROY, Ala. —  The Troy volleyball program honored four seniors on Friday, including record-setting West Rowan graduate Tori Hester.
After dropping the first set, Troy rallied for a 3-1 win against Appalachian State.
The Trojans (13-13, 8-8 SBC) finished the regular season at .500 overall and in the Sun Belt Conference records and finished fourth in the West Division.

On her senior night, Hester continued her attack with 22 kills to lead the Trojans. She also got involved throughout the stat sheet as she ended with one assist, three service aces, nine digs and a block.  

The Trojans will prepare for the Sun Belt Conference Tournament in Foley, Ala., on Nov. 20-24.

Notable 
• Hester expanded her lead as Troy’s all-time leader in kills (1,739) and points (1,992).
• Hester’s match streak with double-digit kills was extended to 48, which continues to be the longest-known active streak in Division I women’s volleyball.
• Hester eclipsed the 500-kill single-season mark for the second time in her Trojan career, finishing the regular season with 508.
