Come join the Salisbury-Rowan Choral Society for its spring season of rehearsals on Tuesdays beginning on Jan. 23 at 7 p.m. at the Fellowship Hall of Coburn Memorial United Methodist Church, 901 S. Church Street in Salisbury.

The first rehearsal is an overview of the theme and selections to be performed during the weekend of May 17, along with introductions and light refreshments.

The concert titled “For a Better Tomorrow” will take everyone on a journey starting with pain and hardships happening around the Earth and ending with an encouragement for all to work together to strive for a better tomorrow.

Some choral selections include “Earth Song” by Frank Ticheli, “Lay Earth’s Burden Down” by Paul Caldwell and Sean Ivory, and “The Awakening” by Joseph M. Martin, along with Michael Jackson’s “Heal the World.”

Singers may audition for voice placement or for solos and small groups using this theme. If you have not sung with the choral group and have questions, please contact Director Brian Sevison at bssevison@gmail.com.

Dues are $30 per concert.

All singers are invited to learn some new songs and offer hope for the future through music.
