SALISBURY — Wake Forest recruit Juke Harris scored 33 points, 17 in a devastating second quarter, as Salisbury blew out Parkland 77-43 on Monday.

Harris has scored 30-plus points in four straight games to open the season.

Parkland (2-2) was just a few days removed from winning a thriller at home against North Rowan, so a tougher game was expected, but the Hornets were a freight train almost from the opening tip. The visitors were knocked back immediately and had no chance.

Bryce Dalton made two early 3-pointers as Salisbury (3-1) took control 20-8 after a quarter.

Then Harris erupted in the second quarter with three 3-pointers and a frenzy of slams, including one that Jon Ross set up with a casual flip off the backboard. That dunk-contest slam led to pandemonium in the Salisbury gym and a frantic Parkland timeout, but the Mustangs were finished. It was 52-22 by halftime.

Harris added two more dunks in the third quarter and sat down early in the fourth.

Dalton scored 15 points, while Mike Geter made two 3-pointers and scored 10.

The Hornets led 67-27 in the third quarter to trigger a running clock.
