FAITH — After debuting last year for the first time, the town of Faith held its second annual “Faith Frosty Fest” on Nov. 25 to get residents fully entrenched in the Christmas spirit now that Thanksgiving has passed.
Located at the Faith Stage and Legion Park, 72 vendors were at the fest to sell arts and crafts, jewelry, clothes and fresh snacks. Compared to the previous year, twice as many vendors registered for the festival.
“It’s been a spectacular draw,” Faith announcer Vicki Meyer said. “Everybody’s having a nice holiday season, it’s a way to kick off Christmas here.”
The Fun-n-Faith Committee worked to put the event on again for the town of Faith.
All throughout the day, people walked around and basked in all that the festival had to offer. Frosty the Snowman, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and the Grinch took pictures with everyone and Mrs. Claus even showed up for story time.
Dimensions Dance Arts, Studio B Dance Studio, Faith Academy Chorus and South Rowan Chorus all gave wonderful performances for those in attendance. There was also a horse-drawn hayride perfect for the kind of person who doesn’t mind getting a little messy.
As soon as it got dark outside, a golf cart/ATV parade went down Main Street where all the vehicles were decorated for the holidays. Afterwards, trophies were presented to the top three best vehicles. That wasn’t the only contest going on. Faith gave out awards for best ugly sweater and best decorated house, too.
However, it could not be a proper Christmas event without a tree lighting and Faith had Santa Claus do the honors of turning on the lights.
Chloey Hallman brought her nephew Jay to the fest after coming last year and they plan to check it out next year as well.
“We loved it! It was so exciting seeing everything and all of the characters dressed up. It was very fun and he enjoyed it,” Hallman said.
