CHINA GROVE — The State Bureau of Investigation has been called in following a death investigation and fire at a China Grove home, according to Rowan County Sheriff’s Office Capt. Chad Moose.

Sheriff’s investigators were called to 2515 Cannon Farm Road on Sunday in reference to a fire that occurred there. Moose said investigators don’t suspect foul play but said the victim, Victoria Rose Sherry, 59, “died from other means.”

The cause of the fire was the result of candles that were left burning. Moose said the sheriff’s office always gets SBI involved when they have a fire that involves a death. The Post reached out to the SBI but did not immediately receive a response.
