SALISBURY — A Stanly County woman and former employee at a health care facility in Cleveland turned herself in to the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office Friday following a report from the Department of Social Services regarding “concerning bruises” on a 12-year-old boy.

Quiotte Nicole Allen, 38, who formerly worked at RHA Health Services – Cleveland, will appear in court for a misdemeanor charge of child abuse, according to the  arrest report. A report from Rowan County Social Services was sent to the sheriff’s office on June 3 and indicated that a boy in residence at the facility where Allen worked, at 211 Roseman Lane in Cleveland, had seven to 10 “older bruises” on his thighs and arms. Another child made the reporting party aware of the bruises.

The Sheriff’s Office said Allen’s records indicated she’s now a former employee of RHA.

RHA Health Services provides help for people with intellectual development disabilities as well as physical, behavioral health or substance abuse needs.

In other Sheriff’s Office reports:

• Tyree Elijahjuan Badger, 27, of Salisbury was arrested on Sunday on a felony charge of eluding officers.
