Letter: White clergy in Salisbury pen “Message to Our Black Neighbors”

In the wake of yet another unjust killing of an unarmed African American, we, the white clergy serving churches in Rowan County, say to our black neighbors:

We hear your cries for justice in frustration and grief.

We stand with you in horror, lament, and weariness.

We confess our complicity and cowardice.

We own our responsibility to act.

We will grow and change with God’s help.

We commit to working with you to change our institutions and community.

In Christ,
