After a thorough assessment of the impact the devastating COVID-19 pandemic has had on 6,500 community-based Little League programs in 84 countries and based on the direction of governmental and public health authorities, and in consultation with medical professionals and the board of directors, Little League International has made the difficult decision to cancel its seven World Series tournaments and their respective regional qualifying events.

“This is a heartbreaking decision for everyone at Little League International, but more so for those millions of Little Leaguers who have dreamt of one day playing in one of our seven World Series events,” said Stephen D. Keener, Little League president and CEO.

Commits, offers

Josh Hall, son of former West Rowan standout Quincy Hall, has hired an agent and will be available for the NBA draft.

He’s eligible for the NBA draft as a 19-year-old who has completed a year in a high school post-graduate program at Moravian Prep.

Hall, a four-star recruit, won’t be going to N.C. State. He’d earlier committed to the Wolfpack.

“As I strive to constantly improve myself day by day to reach my dream of professional basketball, I understand this is a journey only some can dream about,” Hall said on Twitter.

Hall, a 6-foot-9 small forward, grew up in Durham.
