You’re still stuck at home, and you’ve likely cleaned out every drawer and closet by now, and have nowhere to send it. Never fear, Faithful Friends is here!

“We normally have our yard sale in the spring,” says Mary Padavick, director of Faithful Friends Animal Sanctuary. “But we are going to try to move the sale to the fall, and we are still accepting donations for the yard sale.”

Renee Kluttz, a volunteer, is serving as the yard sale chair.

“We are sending everything through her so we can screen donations and let people know what is and is not acceptable,” Padavick says.

Items may be left on the sanctuary’s cottage porch, and Kluttz will pick them up later. That way there’s zero contact. There’s also off-site storage available at which Kluttz can coordinate drop-offs.

The sanctuary is not accepting large-screen televisions, electronics, large furniture, mattresses, or car parts. Clothing, along with small tables and chairs, are all fine, Padavick says.

The yard sale, along with the calendar and the annual Paw Brokers jewelry sale at Christmastime, comprise the sanctuary’s three major fundraisers, Padavick says. Additionally, the sanctuary collects aluminum cans throughout the year, and that’s still taking place. You can drop off bagged cans at locations throughout the city.

And if you’d like to donate money to Faithful Friends Animal Sanctuary, those funds are matched by Friends of Rowan, a local non-profit organization.

To schedule a drop-off of your donations, please call Renee Kluttz at 704-640-2806.
