Letter: Returning, incoming talent could mean better season

Congratulations are certainly in order to Lakai Brice, Rowan County’s 2019-2020 girls coach of the year.

Brice’s young and talented hoopsters enjoyed an amazing and very successful season, not only in the win-loss column, by capturing the Central Carolinas Conference championship and advancing to the regional finals at Catawba Valley Community College in Hickory.

Post reporter Mike London’s article masterfully identified individual team members’ skills and their contributions to the team’s winning ways and Coach Brice’s formula for success.

Kudos to all supporters who traveled to away contests, especially parents, who provided healthy nourishments after each game.

Given the return of veteran players next year along with those from Knox Middle School and possible transfers from other high schools, I am excited about the talent level of next year’s team and being crowned state 2A champs!
