County confirms six total COVID-19 cases in Rowan

UPDATED: 3:35 pm. Rowan County health officials have confirmed this afternoon there a total of six positive COVID-19 cases in the County. No further information has been released about the cases.

Six cases represents an increase of two from Monday.

SALISBURY — Just a week after reporting its first positive COVID-19 case, Rowan County now has its 5th case, according to the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services.

The state agency, which manages the delivery of health and human services, has maintained regular updates via its website. The site is updated regularly by 11 a.m. with a county map indicating the number of positive cases.

The Rowan County Public Health Department has not confirmed this latest update, but have said they will release additional cases at the close of each day via the county’s website.

According to NC DHHS, there have been 398 cases in North Carolina, with no deaths and with 8,502 tests that were completed. The number of positive cases reflects the results from all tests including those from the NC State Laboratory of Public Health and all hospital and commercial labs.

While the number of tests reflects testing completed by the NC State Laboratory of Public Health and reporting hospital and commercial laboratories.
