Changes to parks and rec, tax office and library

Rowan County Department of Parks and Recreation suspend organized baseball and softball at County Parks and closes campground
To help promote social distancing effective immediately all organized baseball and softball play at county parks will be suspended until further notice. Additionally The Dan Nicholas Park Campground will be closed.
Rowan County Tax Collection Office Payment Processing to change
In order to protect and minimize any potential risk to Rowan County citizens, taxpayers, and county employees, the office of Tax Assessor and Tax Collector has implemented the following.
- Rather than coming into the office to pay your tax bill, please make use of these alternative means: (a) mail in your check, (b) drop off your check by putting it in the Tax Collector drop-box, or (c) use our online website if wishing to pay by credit card or bank transfer, and that website is: taxsearch.billbridge.com. If you should require assistance with using the website to make your payment, you may call into the Tax Collector office at 704-216-8544 or you may send an email to: taxcollector@rowancountync.gov.
- Rather than coming into the office to seek information on real, business, or personal property taxes, please call the Tax Assessor’s office at the following numbers: Real Estate (704-216-8586), Business Personal Property (704-216-8571), Registered Vehicles (704-216-8583), or any other questions or concerns (704-216-8558). Or, you may email your concerns to taxdept@rowancountync.gov.
- If there is a need to physically come into either office, please follow the direction of the employees as “social distancing” steps may be enforced, for the protection and safety of all parties.
When submitting a payment to the Rowan County Tax Collectors office taxpayers need to utilize online payments, US Mail, or the drop box.
Rowan County One Church One Child closes due to COVID-19
The Rowan County Department of Social Services, Rowan One Church One Child Assistance Center at Main Street United Methodist Church will be closed until April 6, 2020
Rowan Public Library modifies operations
Effective immediately The Rowan Public Library operations will be limited to the computer lab and curbside only.
