THOMASVILLE — Salisbury rallied for an 8-4 Central Carolina Conference win at East Davidson on Friday.

The Hornets trailed 4-0 going to the sixth inning. They got two runs in the sixth and scored six times in the seventh.

Salisbury (3-2, 2-2) had 11 hits, with Chad van der Poel and Parker Lippard getting two each.

A run-scoring single by Jackson Murphy and Patrick Taylor’s steal of home  in the sixth got the comeback started.

Salisbury scored the tiebreaking run in the seventh when Nick Peltz walked with the bases loaded.

Vance Honeycutt started on the mound for Salisbury and struck out seven in three innings. Lippard pitched the fourth and fifth. Peltz pitched the sixth and seventh and got the win.

Salisbury swept the Golden Eagles.

LEXINGTON — South Rowan won in extra innings at Central Davidson on Friday in a Central Carolina Conference game.

The Raiders (3-2, 2-2) scratched out two runs in the eighth for a 4-2 victory. South trailed 2-1 going to the seventh.

South had eight hits, with Drew Huffman and Ty Hubbard getting two each.

Nolan Eudy pitched six strong innings and struck out seven. Jack Weaver got the win with two scoreless innings.

South swept the Spartans.

GRANITE QUARRY —  Wayne Mize smacked two homers as East Rowan beat Mooresville 7-1 on Friday at Staton Field.

Mize’s three-run homer in the first inning after Charlie Klingler and Griffin Warden got on base was the key blow.

Mize hit a solo blast in the fifth, his fifth homer of the season.

The Mustangs (5-1) got a complete game on the mound from Cameron Padgett. He allowed five hits, struck out nine and walked none.

NORWOOD — Jonathan Spry pitched well for North Rowan (2-4, 2-2) in Friday’s 3-0 Yadkin Valley Conference loss to South Stanly.

Hayden Brown won the pitching duel for the Bulls.

KANNAPOLIS — In a 5-2 South Piedmont Conference win against Northwest Cabarrus, Chris Allen pitched a complete game for the Wonders (2-3, 2-1), and Aiden Schenck knocked in two.

CONCORD —  Tyler Grady had three hits and Brandon Moore drove in two runs as Robinson (2-3, 2-1)  topped Cox Mill 4-2 in a South Piedmont Confernce game played on Friday.

Nick Pratico had three hits for the Chargers.

MIDWAY — Levi Perrell had three hits and scored four runs to lead Oak Grove (4-0, 4-0) to a 9-3 Central Carolina Conference win against Ledford on Friday.
