Blotter: Salisbury woman charged with misdemeanor child abuse

SALISBURY — Salisbury Police charged Sasha Corvette Brewer, 34, of the 200 block of Pearl Street, with misdemeanor child abuse on Wednesday.

Salisbury Police say the child had been hit with a drop cord that left welts on the body.

Brewer remains in custody with a $500 bond.

In other police reports:

  • Brandon Louis Rimer, 33, of the 300 block of Lake Drive, was charged on Wednesday with a felony count for possession of heroin opium derivative, a schedule I controlled substance, and drug paraphernalia.

In sheriff’s reports:

  • Nathan James Rose, 31, of Cleveland, was arrested and charged on Tuesday with a felony count for discharge weapon occupied property, and two misdemeanor counts of assault with a deadly weapon and injury to personal property. The warrants were served by the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office on behalf of Mecklenburg County. All three warrants were from Feb. 29. Rose was booked in the Rowan County Detention Center with a $20,500 secured bond.
  • Lando Carlosian Rankin, 38, of the 200 block of North Main Street, was arrested and charged on Tuesday with a misdemeanor count of non-support child.
  • Randall Todd Poole, 32, of Cleveland, was arrested and charged on Tuesday with a felony count of possession of a controlled substance, Schedule II.
