SALISBURY — The Humane Society of Rowan County will hold its semi-annual Spaghetti Lunch and Dinner this Friday, March 6, at the Rhyne Building at Stallings Memorial Baptist Church, 817 S. Main St.
Dine-in or carry-out meals will be available from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. and 5 until 7:30 p.m. with music by Mel throughout lunch and dinner. Meal includes spaghetti with meat or meatless sauce, garlic bread, salad, dessert and tea, and costs $8 for adults and $4 for children under 12 years.
Delivery of five or more meals to a workplace is available. Requests for deliveries must be called to 704-636-5700 by 10 a.m. Friday, March 6, or faxed to 704-633-5832 by 8 p.m. Thursday, March 5. Orders must not be called to the church.
A memorial table will be set up for Betty Beaver, dedicated volunteer and member of the Board of Directors of The Humane Society of Rowan County, who passed away Feb. 22. The memorial will serve as the official announcement of the organization’s establishment of the Betty Beaver Memorial Fund, a fund to be used to assist with emergency veterinary care of pets whose owners are in financial crisis, a cause dear to Betty’s heart.
Metal sculptures by Davidson County artist Steve Wilson will be available for sale with a portion of the proceeds going to The Humane Society of Rowan County.
Cat and dog food, cat litter and cedar shavings for the organization’s pet food bank may be brought to the fundraiser and will be greatly appreciated. Many pet guardians in the community remain in difficult economic situations and use the pet food service in order to properly care for their pets.
