Letter: Seek out sources other than Fox News

In reference to a letter published Wednesday and written by Allan Gilmour (“Trump used power properly, didn’t abuse it”), Allan must have been getting his information from Donald Trump or Fox news.

He indicates that former Vice President Joe Biden had prosecutor Viktor Shokin fired because he was investigating Burisma, the natural gas company where his son, Hunter Biden, was a member of the board.

Sources ranging from former Obama administration officials to anti-corruption advocates in Ukraine say Victor Shokin was ousted for the opposite reason Trump and his allies claim. Civil organizations in Ukraine as well as European diplomats, the International Monetary Fund and others were calling for him to go.

Evidence suggests that three consecutive chief prosecutors, including Shokin, were actually working to bury the investigation of Burisma. Ironically, Joe Biden asked Shokin to leave because he failed to pursue the Burisma investigation, not because Shokin was active in the case.

In situations like this, all of us need to do our homework and search out information from several sources. I would suggest that Allan listen to National Public Radio instead of Fox News.  Also, Google “Viktor Shokin Burisma” and “Who was the prosecutor fired in Ukraine.”  Read through all the information from the multiple sources cited.
